Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne

The Stolen Throne takes place in the dark fantasy world the upcoming game Dragon Age: Origins is set around, and is composed by lead writer for the game, David Gaider.

** Spoiler alert, but nothing that isn’t on the back cover. **

The main character, Maric, is not on a quest, he’s running for his life. His mother, the rightful queen to the throne has been murdered, and he must survive to save what’s left of the rebellion. Through the woods, over the hills, and underground he must travel with his companions to evade the Orlesian forces, and meet up with the remnants of the Rebel Army.

The book in a good introduction to world that Dragon Age: Origins will take place in, Maric’s adventure takes him all across Ferelden, providing you an idea of what geographical locations you may see in the game. Like any medieval fantasy, you have your golems, elves and dwarves, but no orcs or trolls, yet. However, the book provides a demographical overview into the lifestyles of said races, which may help you decide which race you’ll be when the game comes out (if you’re able to chose).

The only thing the book doesn’t describe is the Grey Wardens, which is the role you will play in DA:O. Lucky for us, on October 13 the novel Dragon Age: The Calling will be coming out, which give the reader their first insight into the lives of the Grey Wardens.

If you liked the novels, you’ll certainly love the game: check out Dragon Age: Origins, coming November 3!

Pre-order it before November 2 to make sure you get your bonus loot, including exclusive armor for both DA:O and Mass Effect 2… .
