Welcome to the Podcast section of Southern Gamer, where you’ll find any audio or video things that I produce, like Twang or Hey-Lo. Listen at your own discretion.
So, my best friend and I like to play Halo and talk about stuff. So I recorded us doing that. Here are the fruits of that labor:
Hey-Lo Episode 1: Freakin’ F’ed Man
On this week’s episode of Twang, we are treated to an all new cast (again!?) as Hasty and Ben join me to discuss some more Resident Evil 5 (and 4!), Killzone 2, Street Fighter 4 and more. We also have a dialogue about Ben’s super-popular Youtube Channel called, “Retsupurae” where he and a friend (or two) riff on really bad videogame-related Youtube videos. And as a bonus, my fiance makes an appearance to talk about Bubble Breaker and Little Big Planet. Also, I *think* I have the sound problems worked out once and for all… so this episode should be much more pleasing to your ears. And again, if you liked (or even hated) what you heard, please sign up for an account and then leave a comment or post in the Forum. We would love to get some of your feedback and maybe even some questions we can answer on-air.

This week on Twang I’m joined by the newest member of our illustrious staff, El Quaker Oat (a.k.a. Hodges) to discuss a ton of games, some news stories, E3 (and Southern Gamer’s plans to invade it), and much more.
Becca couldn’t join us this week due to technical difficulties and scheduling conflicts, but hopefully we’ll have her back on next week to start a weekly tradition of three (or more) southern gamers yammerin’ on about stuff you might care about.
So check it out! We’re on iTunes now – so I would appreciate the hell out of it if you’d go over there and subscribe to Twang and perhaps leave a review while you’re at it. You can also subscribe via the RSS feed, or just by downloading the file below… or even just listening to it on the embedded sound player in this post! There are so many ways – you just can’t say no!
Oh, also… the new equipment I got is awesome – the sound quality is great, but for some reason my side didn’t get recorded in stereo, so I apologize for my voice’s assault on your left ear. I’ll make sure to have that fixed by next week’s show.
The first episode of Twang is LIVE! I haven’t created a feed for it yet, but I will make sure to have that ready by the posting of the next episode. So, if you do us the honor of listening to this humble little podcast, please immediately forgive us for the audio quality. Neither of us has ever recorded a podcast or even done any sound editing… so yes, it sounds like shat. Next week’s Twang should hopefully be better – depending on whether or not the new equipment comes in.
Anyway, click the link below to download, and enjoy (if that’s actually possible).
Last night Becca and I recorded our first feeble attempt at a podcast. I’m not sure that we talked about much that was relevant to anything at all, but perchance some of you loyal readers (soon to be listeners?) will find something of merit within its dark hour-long depth. We chatted about the Fallout 3 DLC, the Resident Evil 5 demo, some upcoming games we’re excited about, the news about 1UP and EGM along with our feelings on the subject and Becca shared some truly heart-wrenching Sims 2 soap opera stories.
I will be editing it over the weekend and hopefully fixing some of the sound quality issues, but if you do choose to listen, please bear with us on the popping, hissing, loud background noises (thanks to Becca’s family and animals). I’m going to be investing in some new sound equipment soon, so that will fix a lot of our sound issues. If after listening you have any suggestions for me on podcasting know-how (i.e. equipment, software/settings, editing) then please let me know – firstname.lastname@example.org.
So, come Monday or so, check back for a direct link to the podcast (bandwidth willing). After that, depending on the response, we will offer a torrent of the podcast and then hopefully get it submitted to iTunes.
Keep staying tuned…
