T-minus 1 week

Look what came in the mail this week!  I don’t want to seem like a gushing fanboy going to his first E3, but… well, I kind of am.  While I fully intend to do my best job of covering the announcements and interviewing any and every developer that will give me ten seconds, I have to admit that part of me will be reverting to the approximation of an 8 year old visiting his first theme park.  That has candy.  And a toy store.

To prepare, I bought a Creative Vado HD on which I will be capturing some nice 720p videos to share with y’all, an Olympus digital voice recorder with a Shure SM57 microphone to get some clean audio on any interviews I get, and an ultra portable external 400GB hard drive to store every bit and byte I can scrape from the L.A. Convention Center showfloor.  So, don’t say I went unprepared.

I feel like I say this every other post, but sorry again for the lack of updates.  I’ve been mired in work, moving into a new house, and preparing for my wedding in July.  It’s been a hectic time in which I haven’t been able to get as much game time logged as I would like.  Once my life settles down a bit, expect Southern Gamer to really pick up.  Until then, enjoy the awesome articles by our newest writers, Chris Mitchell, Ryan Hollingsworth and Matthew Hodges.  (Oh, and by the way Chris, I’m going to make sure to get on that Tony Hawk gizmo and send back a preview – let’s hope it’s not as full of FAIL as we both think)  Anyway, despite the lull in content, expect next week to be a constant deluge of updates (in the way of previews, announcements, interviews, videos, podcasts, pictures, etc.)

Until then, Happy Memorial Day everybody.
